Program Overview

The 2024 Wheeled Mobility Training Program is a combination of recorded presentations and in-person hands-on training for Physical and Occupational Therapists in basic wheelchair provision and training. 

Intended Audience

This course is intended for UPMC Rehab Institute professionals.

Start Date and Duration

This course can be started anytime. It is taken online and is self-paced. Professionals can also participate in on-site training

Cost

This course is $15 to enroll.

Type of Certificate/CEU Offered

The content in this bundle is valued at 4.25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for viewing of the presentations and 7.0 CEUs for the hands-on training.

Program Goals

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to…

  • Assess patients' wheeled mobility needs
  • Help patients maximize their mobility and independence, whether it's through equipment selection, training, or environmental modifications
  • Educate and empower patients, their families, and caregivers throughout the care journey, ensuring a smooth transition across all stages of wheeled mobility use
Participant Expectations and Course Components

Throughout the course, you will be prompted with knowledge checks, a post-test, and a course evaluation. At the conclusion, you will be instructed on how to obtain your CEU certificate.
